On May 19, FSPS announced the selection of Davis, who brings 14 years of experience in middle and high school public education coaching.

“The passion and excitement that Coach Davis displays will be evident in your first meeting with him, watching him coach up and down the court, in the classroom, and in his approach to learning the game. The impact he will have will be immediate, and I am excited about the future for the Southside basketball program,” said FSPS Director of Athletics & Activities Michael Beaumont.

Davis most recently served as Clarksville High School’s Head Senior High Basketball Coach. Prior to that, he was the Head Senior High Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Shiloh Christian High School in Springdale for three years. As a coach, Davis has led teams to three consecutive regional tournament appearances and guided Shiloh Christian to its first-ever state tournament appearance, advancing to the Elite 8. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology P-12 and carries teaching licenses in physical education, coaching (grades 7–12), English/Language Arts/Social Studies (grades 4–8), and Science/Mathematics (grades 4–8).

“I was fortunate to have played for Coach Brad Johnson (University of Arkansas) and Coach Beau Thompson (Farmington Athletic Director) in junior high and senior high before attending the University of Arkansas. I have coached at Ozark, Elkins, Shiloh Christian, and Clarksville. Over the past 14 years, I’ve been part of several conference championship seasons and state tournament wins. I look forward to working with these young men at Southside High School and bringing that winning tradition back! Go Mavs!” said Coach Chuck Davis.

FFSPS looks forward to welcoming Coach Davis and his family to Fort Smith!
